The IIDA has announced the winners of this year’s Global Excellence Awards, recognizing innovation in design from around the world. “One of the most rewarding aspects of the Global Excellence Awards is seeing the variety of approaches to a design concept,” said IIDA executive vice president and CEO Cheryl S. Durst.“The international nature of the competition is exceptionally inspiring, as we think about the growing impact interior design has made on the community at large.”
“I was impressed by the quality of entries in every category,” said Julio Braga of IA Interior Architects, speaking on behalf of the judging panel, which also included Federico Delrosso of Federico Delrosso Architects, Johannes Lampela of Designworks, Emanuela Frattini Magnusson of Bloomberg LP, and Patricia Rotondo of Chipman Design Architecture. “The jury was inspired by many of the projects, which were strategically sound and beautifully executed. We were also encouraged to see new countries represented in the competition. This highlights the importance of design in emerging markets.”
