A+D Architecture and Design Museum will return to downtown Los Angeles with its fifth annual fundraiser and grand reopening, “CELEBRATE: SHELTER,” on June 27 at its new home at 900 East 4th Street, Los Angeles.

Located in DTLA’s growing Arts District, one block from the Southern California Institute of Architecture, the museum’s new converted warehouse space will be filled with custom-designed "shelters" from top architects and designers. Each of the pieces, which were donated, will be auctioned off the night of the reopening, with all proceeds benefiting the museum. “Shelter celebrates the belief that a well-designed habitat creatively and functionally expresses its relationship to site, neighbor and occupant,” says Tibbie Dunbar, A+D’s executive director. “The 2015 ‘CELEBRATE’ theme resonates as A+D returns to a downtown that has grown dramatically and is quite different from when we headed west about 12 years ago.”
A+D first opened in Los Angeles back in January 2001 in the renowned Bradbury Building with the purpose of solely exhibiting progressive architecture and design. Previous years’ ‘CELEBRATE’ galas have included such contributing luminaries and companies as Zaha Hadid, Morphosis, Jonathan Adler, Tadao Ando, James Perse, John Baldessari, BMW Designworks, Steven Ehrlich, Fitzsu, Chadwick Studio, David Hertz, Chip Kidd, L.A. Eyeworks, Marmol Radziner, Richard Meier, Minarc, Karim Rashid, Trina Turk and more.
