Hansgrohe SE, license partner of the German Olympic Sports Association (DOSB) and official outfitter of the German Olympic Team, has remodeled all wash places in the German House and equipped them with fittings “Made in Germany”. In total 34 wash places in 13 washrooms were set up. The 111 year-old company is headquartered in the Black Forest.
The German House is the headquarters of the DOSB during the Games in London and serves as a meeting place for German athletes, their partners and the media. The Museum of London Docklands, a historic brick building in the East End, was chosen as its location. For the Games a total of 2,000 square metres of the museum was remodeled. The idea behind the renovation was to accommodate the characteristics of the brick building without having to forgo modern design and the comforts of the 21st century.

The electronic hand-basin mixers of the Metris S range (Phoenix Design) feature clear and precise contours and an infra-red sensor system which triggers the water flow as required, to ensure a sustainable consumption of water. Following the departure of the athletes, the Hansgrohe fittings will remain in the Museum of London Docklands and contribute to greater water and energy efficiency with their EcoSmart technology.
Hansgrohe had previously partnered on the German House for the 2008 and 2010 games in Beijing and Vancouver. According to Torsten Mayer, responsible for sports sponsorships at Hansgrohe SE: “For the third time in succession our products have accompanied our elite German athletes at Olympic Games around the world. In these important and exciting times for the athletes we want to offer them the highest degree of comfort and the best quality.”
Each German Olympian received a Hansgrohe PuraVida 150 AIR handshower with jets to soothe their muscles and a PuraVida travelshower to take on the road—although they didn't need to pack them for London.
