Sir John Soane's Museum to honor Michael Bruno and DS+R

Every year the Soane Foundation celebrates Sir John Soane’s singular contributions as an architect and educator by bestowing Soane Foundation Honors on present-day leaders in the fields of architecture and design and architectural education. The annual Innovators Gala takes place April 24 at 583 Park Avenue and benefits Sir John Soane’s Museum.
The 2012 Soane Foundation honors will be presented to Michael Bruno, Founder of 1stdibs, who has revolutionized the interior design industry and the selling and acquiring of fine antiques, and Elizabeth Diller, Richard Scofidio and Charles Renfro of Diller Scofidio + Renfro, a group of architects and designers who are reshaping the experience of public space by showing how civic monuments can mirror profound and positive aspects of contemporary experience.
The Honorary International Chair is Her Majesty’s Consul-General, New York, Danny Lopez and Co-Chairs are Molly Lowell Borthwick, Niall Hobhouse, Amin Jaffer, Joel Barkley, Elissa Cullman, Anne Fairfax and Richard Sammons, Allan Greenberg and Judith Seligson, Suzy and Richard Grote, Cynthia and John A. Gunn, John Ike, Thomas A. Kligerman, Barbara and A. Eugene Kohn, Elizabeth and Stanley D. Scott, Kathleen Elizabeth Springhorn, Robert A.M. Stern, Stephanie Stokes, and Suzanne Tucker.
Previous awards recipients have included Allan Greenberg, A. Eugene Kohn, Jaquelin T. Robertson, Robert A.M. Stern, and Richard H. Driehaus.
