Kips Bay has announced the new venue for its 2010 Decorator Show House—a newly-renovated limestone townhouse at 106 East 71st Street on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The show house was originally scheduled to open last spring in an Upper West Side townhouse, but was postponed due to a sale of the property.
Next week, top designers including Vicente Wolf, Jennifer Post, Robert Couturier, Katie Ridder, 2Michaels and Noel Jeffrey, will each renovate and decorate a room in the 17-room, six-story, 10,000-square-foot townhouse to showcase their interior design talent and new trends. The house features six bedrooms, seven baths, five fireplaces and a terrace that overlooks Park Avenue. The house is currently on the market for $28.8 million.
“106 East 71st Street is a perfect example of an extraordinary Upper East Side townhouse," said Carrie Chiang, Senior Vice President of The Corcoran Group.

The show house will be open to the public from Thursday, October 14 to Thursday, November 11. The black tie President’s Preview and Dinner will be held on Thursday, October 7. The dinner co-chairs are 1stdibs founder Michael Bruno and interior designer Jamie Drake. The Opening Night Gala cocktail benefit will be held on Wednesday, October 13.
The Kips Bay Decorator Show House is chaired by Mrs. W. Ward Carey and raises approximately $1 million annually for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, a non-profit organization that provides essential after-school and enrichment programs for more than 13,000 young people at 10 locations in the Bronx. The show house receives as many as 20,000 visitors during its four-week run and has raised more than $16 million since its inception in 1973.
