“Wild Minimalism” is the name of the first New York show by Rooms, an interior and product design studio founded by Nata Janberidze and Keti Toloraia of Tbilisi, Georgia, coming to The Future Perfect. The collection is made up of wood, brass, and mirrored chairs and tables, including a horned chair and table-meets-staircase, inspired by surrealist films by Sergei Parajanov, a filmmaker from the country of Georgia.

The duo were largely inspired by Georgian traditional design, and each piece was handmade in the country, in limited batches of 50 editions of each piece. “We really wanted to go back to our ethnic roots,” Janberidze told W magazine in a recent interview. “When we started, there were very few design companies in Georgia, because of the economic hardship and the wars our country had to go through—I don’t think anyone had time for design. Right now, it’s like a creative explosion is happening in Georgia.”
