Design on a Dime, the benefit for Housing Works, is coming to Miami from February 5 to 7, and to New York from April 20 to 23. The events and accompanying sales will spotlight vignettes created by top interior designers, featuring new products that are donated to the show and sold to attendees for major discounts off retail cost. Sixty designers will participate in the New York event and 25 in the Miami event.
Founding chair James Huniford
The founding chair for both the New York and Miami events is James Huniford. The Miami co-chairs are Michael Boodro, Nicole Gibbons and George Oliphant. New York’s honorary chairs include Andy Cohen, Sandra Lee and Cristina Saralegui, with co-chairs Michael Boodro, Ken Fulk, Sarah Harrelson, The Jills and Brian Kelly, and social chair Douglas Friedman.
The Miami festivities will premiere with a February 5 Chairman’s Preview Evening and a February 6 Opening Night Reception, with the public sale taking place on February 7. The New York event will kick off with the April 20 Groundbreaker Awards Dinner, honoring political activist–artist-author Mary Fisher, along with interior designer Jamie Drake, who received this year’s Elle Decor The Heart of Design Award. The April 21 Opening Night Reception will celebrate the event’s 12th year. The New York public sale will unfold April 22 to 23 at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
