Last month, the AIA New York Chapter honored Matt Shoor of Dattner Architects with the ENYA (Emerging New York Architects) Merit Award during the 2016 Board Inaugural at the Center for Architecture. The award celebrates Shoor’s accomplishments in architecture as well as his work on developing programs both at his firm and within the chapter.

“Education is the thematic link unifying my contributions to the profession at large, and to the AIA New York Chapter specifically. My driving goal is the edification of my fellow architects and citizens, with the hope that insight into the world and humanity will improve our workplaces, cities and lives,” says Shoor.

Shoor is currently managing a team of designers for the construction administration of The Hub, a 53-story luxury rental building, downtown Brooklyn’s tallest building. He co-leads a lecture series at Dattner Architects, and is involved in developing programming for AIANY, including the Grow symposium. He received his M.A. in architecture from the University of Oregon, and his B.A. in history and art history from Middlebury College. A California native, Shoor has lived and worked in New York City since 2006.
