Pros receive grants for education, travel from IFDA

A select group of professionals in the interior design or furnishings fields has been awarded grants, courtesy of the IFDA. The Educational Foundation of the IFDA last week announced the 2015 Professional Grant winners, in a prestigious group that includes:

Elizabeth Brown Grant to Interior Design Programs, $1,000
Angela McKillip for South Dakota State University

Tony Torrice Professional Development Grant, $1,500
Elizabeth Zecca, licensed interior designer, for further education to attain a Florida State Residential Contractors License

Ina Mae Kaplan Historic Preservation Grant, $1,500
Connie Huddleton of Interpreting Times Past, on behalf of Hembree Historic Farmhouse in Georgia

Irma Dobkin Universal Design Grant, $2,000
Mia Kile of the University of Oklahoma for a Universal Design Symposium on the Norman Campus

Valerie Moran Memorial Grant, $3,000
Karen Wirrig of Karen Cole Designs for travel to Maison & Objet in Paris
