Architectural, interior and landscape designer John F. Saladino will receive this year's Innovator Award at the NYC&G Innovation in Design Awards. Saladino is known for incorporating historical references into all of his work and is recognized as the first designer to include ancient fragments and techniques in modern, minimalist spaces. Some of his current projects include a garden on a private Greek island, a Kuwait palace, a 10,000- square-foot Palladian, Palm Beach residence, plus a number of residences in Santa Barbara, Seattle and New York City.

He has also designed furniture collections for Dunbar, Baker, Knapp, and Tubbs, in addition to creating his own eponymous furniture line. He has received notable furniture and interior design awards, has served as a board member for organizations including Formica, Parsons School of Design, New York School of Interior Design, Save Venice and the Sir John Soane Museum Foundation in London, and lectures throughout the world. His latest book, "Villa," was published in 2009, the same year as his fabric collection, Saladino for Savel, was launched at NYDC.
In addition to Saladino’s award, the year's judging panel was also announced: designers Tara Seawright of Tara Seawright, Inc.; Shawn Henderson of Shawn Henderson Interior Design; Sandra Nunnerley of Sandra Nunnerley Inc. and Alan Tanksley of Alan Tanksley, Inc., along with antiques designer Bernd Goeckler of Bernd Goeckler Antiques, will serve on the panel.
