In the wake of the Chicago Merchandise Mart's announcement this summer to open to the public, meaning consumers may make purchases through the Mart's on-site designers, the Pacific Design Center has followed suit in a less controversial manner. Design enthusiasts may shop participating showrooms, make purchases and enjoy events at PDC on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.
The design center offers special events such as intimate designer discussions, seminars and book signings on Saturdays to entice visitors and create a buzz.
