Exhibition puts upstart New York-based firms on the map

Six promising and pioneering NYC-based firms, each under 10-years-old, were chosen as this year’s winners of American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) New Practices New York, a biennial competition that recognizes and promotes new and innovative architecture and design firms in the Metropolitan area. The firms’ work is now on display at The Center for Architecture through January 17.
The 2014 winners include the following firms:

The Bittertang Farm

Dlandstudio architecture + landscape architecture

Fake Industries Architectural Agonism

Form-ula

NAMELESS Architecture

PARA-Project
A distinguished panel of jurors including Alejandro Zaera-Polo, Dean of Architectural Design, Princeton University; Elaine Molinar, Director Strategic Planning and Business Development, Snøhetta; Jing Liu, Principal, SO-IL; Lucia Allais, Assistant Professor, History and Theory of Architecture, Princeton University; and William Menking, Editor in Chief, Architects Newspaper, selected the competition’s winners from 64 entries.
The Center for Architecture is located at 536 LaGuardia Place, New York, NY. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
