For the past few months, the Editor at Large team has been hard at work producing the first-ever curated, printed Designers’ Guide to next week’s High Point Market (October 18 – 23)—a free, multi-page tabloid-size newspaper featuring 80+ interior designer-focused events and highlights happening throughout Market.
The guide, which can be downloaded here, will be available for interior designers at various locations throughout market and includes everything from panel discussions to product debuts, cocktail parties to CEUs, tips from Market veterans and recommended places to hit while in town.

“Interior designers make up an increasingly significant portion of Market-goers and more brands are catering to them than ever before,” said Editor at Large President Julia Noran Johnston. “We began seeing designers walking around each Market carrying a stapled print-out of our web-based Guide and realized there was a greater need for this information.”
The listings are organized by day, time and location. This format is meant to give veterans and first-time Market attendees a clear, streamlined roadmap for the five-day affair, including a selection pre-Market events.

Highlights of this year’s Market are the grand-opening of Kravet’s showroom, a re-designed CR Laine by Tobi Fairley, a book signing and new lighting collection debut at Visual Comfort with Kelly Wearstler, Editor at Large’s designer tours, Libby Langdon’s lighting collection debut for Crystorama, Bernhardt’s 125th anniversary party, a conversation with Jamie Drake at Theodore Alexander, and new introductions at Lexington Home Brands, Currey & Company, 214 Modern Vintage and Calvin Klein Home—all of which are detailed in the guide.

In addition, Market veterans such as Traditional Home’sTori Mellot and The Hearst Design Group’sNewell Turner, as well as designers including Bunny Williams, Jason Oliver Nixon, Thom Filicia and Celerie Kemble all chime in with advice for tackling Market.
To see the guide in its entirety, download it here. (Please be patient as it downloads—it’s a large file, brimming with information!) Also, be on the lookout for a printed version on the streets and in and around showrooms during Market. Tweet us your thoughts at @Editoratlarge.
