Anthropologist, an online venue founded in 2009 by retailer Anthropologie, features documentary-style videos of creative people's passions and pursuits in order to inspire creativity in the viewer.
The latest series of short films and photos explore the history and day-to-day operations of P.E. Guerin, the oldest New York metal foundry and hardware manufacturer in the U.S., which showcases inspiring artisans from around the world.

According to Anthropologist, this video and photo series represents the site’s desire to inspire its audience with the artistry inherent in the manufacturing processes of specific designers and creators.

Through interviews, video of the company’s manufacturing process, and photo portraits of P.E. Guerin’s employees (many of whom have been with the company for over a decade), the Anthropologist’s project explores the importance and value of artisan goods and the role of classic craftsmanship in the modern era.

Future exhibitions on the Anthropologist include a photo series by David Eustace featuring Scottish Ballet Company dancer Tomomi Sato and the tree house fantasies made real in Sweden by Urnatur.
