Interior designer Tapio Anttila, received the second-ever "Green" GOOD DESIGN Award for his Tuohi product series. He was selected from a pool of thousands of submissions from 46 nations.
The Tuohi sereis' birch bark objects are produced ecologicall, are fully recyclable and manufactured by Showroom Finland. The series includes wall elements, trays and a light fitting made of birch bark.

Based in Lahti, Finland, Anttila is especially interested in Finnish wood and how to work on it in a modern way, at the same time following the traditions. He has worked as an inhouse furniture designer at Isku Oy as well as chief interior architect on the Helsinki Vantaa Airport, at PES Architects Oy.

Derived from the GOOD DESIGN Award, the ecology-driven Green GOOD DESIGN Award is designed to emphasise the importance of sustainable design and to raise consumer awareness of companies that adhere to the principles of sustainable design in their operations.
